A sum of INR 100 Lakhs or USD 125,000 is committed to being drawn and granted over a period of four years towards promoting research and development as well as SDG directed problem-solving and innovation in universities, colleges, and schools.
Corporate projects and funds will also be attracted and directed to research as top-up grants or matching grants and even independent grants under the name of the sponsoring organisation.
Each corporate project of greater than INR 1,000,000 or USD 125,000 would automatically result in a joint research grant of one percent of the project amount subject to a minimum of INR 100,000. The research grant will be directed to the same area of focus or interest as the corporate project. (See current joint grants)
All NRF grant amounts would be granted through the NRF process as per the recommendations of the jury.
All grant receiving researchers would receive a certificate of appreciation and the grant letter at the annual events such as Meltingpot2020 or NRF / ITEC conference.
The research grant policy is subject to revision every year by the apex board of the WAINConnect.
